What is your risk?

How does any contractor protect customers?

Know what they are doing.

Use quality materials.

Protect property.

Most contractors do these things.  We do too.

Unfortunately, accidents happen.

In addition, real protection for customers includes insurance.  We all hate paying for insurance, until something happens and we need it.  Insurance is expensive.

When you have someone work on your home, they ARE covered by insurance.  They either bring their own, or they use YOURS.  God forbid, if disaster of some sort happens, somebody’s insurance is gonna pay.  In regard to property accidents, it’s either our general liability or your homeowners insurance.

In regard to injury accidents, it’s either our workers compensation insurance, or your homeowners insurance, or your umbrella policy, or your checking account, or your life savings or ever how much of your hard earned assets it takes to satisfy the hospital and lawyers.

How does Colorvations protect you?

Very few painting companies hire painters as employees.  Why?  Having employees is much more expensive than hiring subs.  Just like corporate America is outsourcing many duties today, we “outsource” our labor  to experts.  They do things our way and follow our specifications when working for Colorvations.  My tenure as a Porter rep exposed me to hundreds of paint crews.  I only hire the good ones.  I went out to inspect a lot of complaints.

Some of these crews bring their own insurance, some don’t.  If they bring their own, I pay them more because they have to pay for their insurance.  If they don't bring their own insurance, they fall under Colorvations’ insurance.  I pay them less because I have to pay for the insurance to cover them.  Either way, the workers are covered by insurance, the cost of which is part of the price YOU pay to have your house painted.  That is MUCH less expensive than hiring someone to work on your property that doesnt have proper insurance.  Again, in that case, they fall UNDER YOUR INSURANCE policy.

Beware.  If someone says they are covered, ask for their insurance certificate, then call the listed agent to make sure the workers themselves are covered.
